PENGARUH PEMBERIAN INFORMASI TENTANG PROSEDUR PEMBIUSAN TERHADAP KECEMASAN PASIEN PRE OPERASI
Abstract
Background: Preoperative patient anxiety is influenced by several factors including knowledge, communication and information factors. Anxiety in patients is caused by a lack of knowledge about the surgical procedure to be performed. Providing information about the anesthesia procedure is one of the interventions that can reduce patient anxiety by increasing patient knowledge.
Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of providing information about the anesthesia procedure on preoperative patient anxiety
Method: The research method used is a pre-experimental design using a one group pretest-posttest design with a research sample of 15 preoperative patients. Sampling using consecutive sampling. Anxiety data collection using the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information (APAIS) questionnaire. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: This study shows that moderate anxiety has the most respondents with a total of 10 respondents (66.7% before being given the intervention. After being given the intervention, the majority of respondents had mild anxiety as many as 11 respondents (73.3%). Data analysis test shows a P value of 0.001. This p value shows a p value <ɑ (0.05) which means that there is an influence between providing information and reducing pre-operative patient anxiety.
Conclusion: There is an influence of providing information about the anesthesia procedure on pre-operative patient anxiety
